Volunteers

I am looking for some volunteers to help with two upcoming events. As most of you probably know by now, I have been home all week with my daughter who is sick. I would have gotten this communication out sooner if I was at school.
On Monday our class will visit the book fair at 12:20. I need two parents to assist the children with book selection.
On Wednesday, November 25th our school will be holding the annual Turkey Trot for the 4th and 5th grade students. After the older students run the race, I will give the kids in our class the chance to run the course unofficially. I am looking for five parents to help with supervising the race route. I would need you at 10:00.
If you can assist with either event please let me know. Thank you in advance for your support!

Homework Addition

Starting Monday, the reading homework will have an additional task on it. There is a spot for the students to respond to their reading. They must write at least one sentence about something in the reading.
If your child is working on sight words or some other literacy activity, they can write a sentence using a word that they have practiced.
If you have any questions about the new expectation please let me know. The time you spend with your child at home on homework does make a difference. I appreciate all you do!

It was a marvelous day!

Thank you to Mrs. Giles and Mrs. Macri for coordinating the Halloween party. Thank you to all who sent in food and supplies. It was a marvelous party!
Have a happy and safe Halloween with your family and friends!

We Are Off To The Parade!

The kids were all dressed and excited to parade around the school. We had a lot of fun visiting all the classes!

Halloween Parade

On Friday, October 30th our class will be in the school's annual Halloween Parade. Please have your child come to school in their costume or send it in a bag. Remember the following:
  • NO WEAPONS ALLOWED If your child's costume has a weapon that goes along with it please keep it at home.
  • Label ALL Pieces
  • Costumes will be worn for the parade only. Your child should have a regular set of clothes to wear for the day. I will make sure that costumes are safe in backpacks for the BIG DAY on Saturday:))
  • The first grade classes do not use parent volunteers for this event. ( you will have other opportunities to volunteer in the future) I will post pictures from the parade on the blog of the children who have permission. Thank you for your understanding:))

Dressing Appropriately for the Weather

Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately each day for outdoor recess. We go outside for recess year round.
